Rhyming Alliteration Poem Project

Summer Nights

Orange setting sun goes down in the west,
Calling all busy birds to go to their nest
Sky turns puffy pink as families ready for rest
It’s the time of day that I like the best.

Noises of the day have all settled down
A pleasant peacefulness has come to town
A Coqui frog chirps out his nighttime sound
Soothing solitude I have found.

Cool calming breezes fly right by
Crackling palm fronds seem ready to fly
A book to read I will try
Before droopy eyelids quickly cover my eye.

  1. This class is so influenced by poetry and the soothing it brings out in all of us. I am glad that you were able to join this class and please I hope to see some of these poems posted around your class that when the kids go crazy their punishment will be to read these poems to truely bring out the meaning of the words. Punishment no pure LEARNING!!
